Hrithik Roshan Wins Court Battle to Protect His Image from Online Misuse

Delhi HC safeguards Hrithik Roshan’s image rights, orders removal of offensive online content.

The Delhi High Court, presided over by Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora, granted Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan protection of his personality and publicity rights. The court directed the removal of certain objectionable social media posts targeting the actor, following his plea to safeguard his name, image, and likeness from misuse, including AI-generated inappropriate content.

Justice Arora clarified that no ex-parte directions would be issued at this interim stage regarding the removal of specific fan pages, ensuring that the affected parties are heard before a formal order is passed. The matter has been scheduled for further hearing on March 27, 2026, with a detailed interim injunction order to be issued in due course.

Roshan’s plea is part of a growing trend among high-profile figures seeking legal protection of their personality rights. Recently, celebrities such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Johar, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and Sudhir Chaudhary have approached the Delhi High Court with similar requests, securing interim relief. A plea by playback singer Kumar Sanu is also pending before the court.
