Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan recently shared a humorous anecdote about actor Rakesh Bedi during a vlog visit to his home, recalling his early days at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). The remarks have drawn attention online, offering a nostalgic glimpse into the close-knit relationships within the Hindi film industry during the earlier years of several now-prominent figures.
During the vlog, Farah Khan, accompanied by her cook Dilip, described Rakesh Bedi as the “main hero” of Dhurandhar 2 and spoke about reconnecting with him after a long gap. She noted that while she was around 15 years old at the time, Bedi was about 25 and studying at FTII, where he formed friendships with several aspiring actors who would later go on to become well-known names in the industry.
Recalling those days, Farah shared that Bedi and his friends would frequently visit the home of noted lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar and his then-wife Honey Irani. She humorously remarked that the group would come over regularly for “free food and free drinks,” describing it as a common gathering spot where young artists socialized and built lasting connections.
