Did Shah Rukh Khan Really Dance at 3 AM for Fans?

Shah Rukh Khan dances to a 90s hit at a Filmfare rehearsal; fans gather at 3 am.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan turned back time during rehearsals for the 70th Filmfare Awards, dancing to his 1998 hit Ladki Badi Anjaani Hai from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, as hundreds of fans gathered outside the venue at 3 a.m. to catch a glimpse of their idol. A video shared by fan club SRK Fans United captured the 59-year-old icon, dressed in a grey sweatshirt and cargo pants, recreating the song’s iconic steps with backup dancers on the Ahmedabad stage. The clip, which went viral with over 500,000 views on Instagram, showcased Khan’s timeless charisma, blending nostalgia with his signature energy ahead of hosting the prestigious awards tonight alongside Maniesh Paul and Karan Johar.

The early morning crowd outside the Gujarat University Convention Centre swelled despite the late hour, underscoring Khan’s enduring stardom. The caption read, “King Khan rehearsing for Filmfare award with crowd gathering outside the stadium at 3 am,” reflecting the frenzy that follows the actor, who has won 14 Filmfare Awards, including Best Actor for classics like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995).

Khan, in a statement last week, expressed his deep connection to the event: “From the first time I held the Black Lady... to sharing countless memories with my colleagues and fans, it’s been a journey of love, cinema, and magic.” He promised a night of “laughter, nostalgia, and celebration,” hinting at performances of his chartbusters from the ‘90s and 2000s, a golden era for his romantic and action roles.

The 70th Filmfare Awards, a landmark for Hindi cinema’s oldest accolades, celebrate 2024’s cinematic achievements, with nominations led by films like Animal and Jawan, the latter starring Khan in a dual role that grossed over Rs 1,100 crore globally. His hosting stint, a return after a decade, is a nod to his showmanship, last seen at the 2013 Filmfare stage with Saif Ali Khan.

Fans on X buzzed with anticipation, with one user noting, “SRK dancing to KKHH at 59 is pure magic—Ahmedabad is in for a treat!” Others shared clips of his rehearsals, praising his stamina and connection with younger dancers, a testament to his 35-year career spanning over 100 films.
