'Dhurandhar' Overtakes 'Pushpa 2' Hindi as Highest-Grossing Hindi Film of All Time

Ranveer Singh’s spy thriller Dhurandhar has officially become the highest-earning Hindi film of all time, with a total India nett collection of Rs 831.40 crore, the makers announced on Wednesday. On its 33rd day, the film earned Rs 5.70 crore nett, cementing its place at the top of Hindi box office charts.
The previous record-holder was the Hindi version of Allu Arjun’s 2023 blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule, which had earned Rs 830 crore. Other top Hindi grossers include Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (Rs 643 crore) and Stree 2 (Rs 627 crore). The remarkable run of Dhurandhar highlights sustained audience interest over five weeks of screenings.
Box office data shows the film earned Rs 218 crore in its opening week, followed by Rs 261.50 crore in week two, Rs 189.30 crore in week three, and Rs 115.70 crore in week four. It continued to draw audiences with Rs 35.80 crore in the fifth weekend, reflecting strong word-of-mouth and repeat viewership.

Globally, Dhurandhar has amassed over Rs 1,220 crore, ranking it among the top-grossing Indian films of all time. It trails only SS Rajamouli’s RRR (Rs 1,230 crore), Pushpa 2 (Rs 1,742 crore), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1,788 crore), and Aamir Khan’s Dangal (Rs 2,070 crore), according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
Directed and written by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is a high-octane spy thriller exploring covert intelligence missions during landmark terror and geopolitical events, including the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Parliament attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Singh leads a star-studded cast featuring Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, R Madhavan, and Rakesh Bedi.
Produced under B62 Studios and Jio Studios, the film has sparked mixed reactions from critics but achieved unprecedented commercial success. Bollywood giant Yash Raj Films congratulated the team, calling Dhurandhar “a milestone moment in Indian cinema” and praising its record-breaking achievement in a single-language Hindi release.
