Dhurandhar Director’s Cut Rumoured At 7.5 Hours, No Official Confirmation Yet

Reports suggest Dhurandhar director’s cut could run 7.5 hours, but makers haven’t confirmed yet.

Rumors are swirling online about a potentially groundbreaking “Director’s Cut” of Dhurandhar that could stretch to an unprecedented 7 hours and 30 minutes, though the filmmakers have yet to confirm any plans. The chatter began after a purported CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) listing surfaced online, showing a certified runtime of 450 minutes and an ‘A’ rating issued by the Mumbai regional office on March 31, 2026. The listing reportedly names Aditya Dhar as director, with Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, and Arjun in starring roles.

Reports suggest that the extended cut may merge the original Dhurandhar and its sequel, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, into a single continuous narrative. Set against the backdrop of espionage and national security crises, the story follows an undercover agent navigating a complex terror-political network under a new identity, promising an intricate and layered cinematic experience.

Speculation is also rife around the release strategy. Sources indicate that the extended version could see a limited release starting April 5, with weekend-only screenings featuring two marathon-style shows per week. Premium formats such as IMAX, Dolby Cinema, HDR, and EPIQ are reportedly under consideration. The director’s cut is also said to feature an uncensored version with a revised sound mix, while the songs will remain largely unchanged but integrated more as background score elements with clearer vocals.

Social media has reacted with a mix of excitement, humor, and skepticism. Fans have called it a “new era of binge-watching,” while others have questioned whether a seven-hour-plus film could realistically hold viewers’ attention. Some have dismissed the CBFC certificate as potentially doctored, pointing to the timing of the listing as a possible prank.

Industry analysts have highlighted practical concerns, noting that a film of this length could present challenges for theatres, scheduling, and audience endurance. Despite these debates, the idea of experiencing both installments of the Dhurandhar saga in a single sitting has sparked curiosity among fans and cinephiles alike.

As of now, there is no official confirmation from Aditya Dhar or the production houses, B62 Studios Private Limited and Jio Studios. Fans are eagerly waiting to see whether this ambitious director’s cut will materialize, potentially setting a new benchmark in Indian cinema.
