Deol Family Hosts Heartfelt ‘Celebration of Life’ For Dharmendra in Mumbai

The Deol family will host a prayer meet titled “Celebration of Life” for legendary actor Dharmendra this evening at the Seaside Lawns of Taj Lands End in Bandra. The gathering is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 27, 2025, three days after the veteran star passed away at the age of 89. Preparations are currently underway at the five-star hotel for what is expected to be a quiet and dignified event where family members, film industry colleagues, and well-wishers can pay their final respects.

Dharmendra breathed his last on November 24, 2025, at his Juhu residence following a week-long illness. He was cremated the same day at Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle in the presence of close family and friends. The prayer meet invitation, shared by the family on social media, features a childhood photograph of the actor alongside the words “Celebration of Life and the dates “Dharmendra: 8 December 1935 – 24 November 2025.”

A large turnout from the film fraternity is anticipated, building on the presence of several top stars at Monday’s funeral, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Varun Dhawan, among others. Reports also suggest singer Sonu Nigam may perform some of Dharmendra’s popular songs during the service.

Fans will soon be able to see the iconic actor one final time on screen in the upcoming war drama Ikkis, slated for release this December. In the film, Dharmendra essays the role of Brigadier Khetarpal, father of India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal (played by Agastya Nanda), with Jaideep Ahlawat in a key supporting role. The prayer meet this evening marks a formal farewell to one of Hindi cinema’s most beloved and enduring superstars.
