'Bandar' Box Office Day 2: Bobby Deol Film Shows Limited Growth, Crosses Rs 0.6 Crore

Crime thriller records modest collections on second day.

Director Anurag Kashyap's latest crime thriller Bandar continued its theatrical run on Saturday, but early box office figures suggest that the film is struggling to build significant momentum among audiences. Despite a slight increase in collections on its second day, the movie has so far recorded a modest performance at the domestic box office.

According to industry tracking estimates, Bandar earned approximately ₹0.14 crore net in India on Day 2 from 512 shows. With these earnings, the film's cumulative India net collection has reached around ₹0.64 crore, while its gross collection stands at approximately ₹0.77 crore. The numbers indicate only limited growth from its opening day, reflecting a challenging start for the film's theatrical journey.

The movie had opened on Friday with a net collection of ₹0.50 crore from 1,365 shows across the country. Occupancy levels remained largely unchanged on the second day, hovering around 10 percent in key markets. The Hindi version recorded a morning occupancy of 5.46 percent on Saturday, pointing to a subdued response from moviegoers during the initial shows of the day.

Among major centres, Jaipur emerged as the strongest-performing market with approximately 13 percent occupancy, followed by the National Capital Region (NCR), Bengaluru and Pune, which each recorded around 9 percent occupancy. Mumbai registered 8 percent occupancy from 99 shows, while Lucknow reported 7 percent. Ahmedabad and Chandigarh stood at 5 percent each, whereas Kolkata, Bhopal and Surat posted comparatively lower attendance figures.

In terms of screen count, NCR remained the film's largest market with 212 shows, followed by Ahmedabad with 109 shows and Mumbai with 99. Bengaluru hosted 64 shows, while Surat, Kolkata, Lucknow and Pune also contributed a notable share of screenings. However, the large number of shows has yet to translate into strong audience turnout in several regions.

Starring Bobby Deol, Raj B. Shetty, Jitendra Joshi and Sapna Pabbi, Bandar follows the story of Samar, an ageing artist whose life takes a dramatic turn after he faces a rape allegation from a former partner. The narrative explores his subsequent struggle through a complex legal and law-enforcement system. While the film has generated discussion for its subject matter and Kashyap's direction, its box office performance will be closely watched in the coming days to determine whether positive word-of-mouth can help improve collections.
