Babil Khan, Anna Ben to Star in Indo-American Film ‘Yakshi’

Actors Babil Khan and Anna Ben are set to lead ‘Yakshi’, an upcoming Indo-American film blending Indian folklore with contemporary storytelling. The project is written and directed by Karan Sunil, known for the series ‘Code-Switched’, and is backed by Lambe Log Productions and Full Spectrum Features.

Malayalam star Anna Ben, acclaimed for ‘Kumbalangi Nights’ and ‘Helen’, took to social media to share her excitement. "This was truly written in the stars. Had the most amazing time working with these wonderful human beings," she wrote, expressing gratitude to Sunil and the production team for trusting her with the role of Maya.

Ben also praised her co-star Babil Khan, calling him "an absolute darling" and hoping they would collaborate again. "I can’t wait to see you do all the wonderful things you are dreaming of doing," she added.

While details about Yakshi’s plot and release date remain under wraps, the film’s announcement has sparked intrigue, especially given its fusion of folklore with a modern narrative.

Meanwhile, Babil Khan is also gearing up for another major project—a romantic drama directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sai Rajesh. This film will mark the Bollywood debut of Govinda’s son, Yashvardhan Ahuja. Backed by producers Madhu Mantena, Allu Aravind, and SKN Films, the yet-to-be-titled project has already generated buzz. However, the makers have yet to finalise the female lead.
