Ayushmann and Sara headline chaotic comedy sequel Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, out March 2026.
The much-anticipated sequel to the 2019 hit Pati Patni Aur Woh is set to bring laughter and chaos to cinemas, with Pati Patni Aur Woh Do slated for release on March 4, 2026. Directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Renu Ravi Chopra, and Juno Chopra, the comedy-drama stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rakul Preet Singh. The makers unveiled a vibrant poster today, teasing the film’s quirky narrative with the caption, “Har pati ki hoti hai, apni ek aflatoon duniya... Jo unko bhale hi satati ho, magar hum sabki badha hasati hai!”
Building on the success of the original, which featured Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do promises a fresh dose of matrimonial misadventures. Ayushmann Khurrana steps into the lead role as Prajapati Pandey, joined by Sara Ali Khan and Wamiqa Gabbi as key female leads, with Rakul Preet Singh adding star power. The film, set to release during the festive Holi season, aims to blend humor, romance, and drama, capturing the chaotic charm of modern relationships in a quintessentially Indian setting.
The production faced turbulence during its shoot in Prayagraj, where viral videos captured a physical altercation between the crew and local residents. One clip showed a local confronting a crew member filming a car sequence, escalating into a scuffle that some reports suggested involved director Mudassar Aziz himself. Despite attempts by locals to de-escalate, the situation spiraled, drawing significant online attention. Another video, likely a scripted scene, depicted Ayushmann and Sara in a heated argument, showcasing the film’s high-energy narrative.
