Director Atlee Kumar heightened anticipation for his ambitious project, AA22 x A6, describing it as a groundbreaking cinematic endeavor that has even seasoned Hollywood technicians grappling with its complexity. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film stars Allu Arjun, who will portray four distinct characters, and Deepika Padukone, whose casting was confirmed in June with a video showcasing Atlee narrating the script to her. Atlee emphasized his goal to create an “addictive” and unprecedented experience, stating, “We are going to make something never seen before.”
The film’s scale has drawn international expertise, with Hollywood professionals like VFX supervisor James Madigan (Iron Man 2, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts), Spectral Motion’s Mike Elizalde, and Fractured FX’s Justin Raleigh expressing awe at the script’s ambition. Madigan noted his “head is still spinning” after reading it, while Elizalde called it “unlike anything I’ve ever read.” Raleigh highlighted the script’s potential for unique creatures and characters, underscoring the project’s innovative scope. Atlee confirmed that these technicians find the project “very challenging,” fueling his confidence in its monumental impact.
AA22 x A6 has generated significant buzz since its announcement, with a June clip hinting at Deepika’s motion-capture role as a queen-like figure wielding a sword on horseback. The project’s ambition to redefine Indian cinema comes amid speculation about Deepika’s exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit due to creative and scheduling conflicts, though no official confirmation was provided. Atlee assured fans that the ongoing shoot is on track, with a special reveal planned in the coming months.
