Arjun Das Opens Up About 'Don 3' Casting Talks Before Ranveer Singh-Farhan Akhtar Fallout
Arjun Das Confirms Don 3 Talks Fell Through
Tamil actor Arjun Das has revealed that he was approached for a role in Don 3, the long-awaited Bollywood film that was set to feature Ranveer Singh in the lead and be directed by Farhan Akhtar. In a recent interaction, Arjun confirmed that discussions had taken place with Farhan Akhtar regarding the project. However, the actor also indicated that the film is no longer moving forward in the form that was previously planned, amid the developments surrounding Ranveer’s reported exit and his fallout with the filmmaker.
Don 3 had been announced as the next instalment in the popular Don franchise, with Ranveer Singh taking over the titular role after Shah Rukh Khan’s two films in the series. Farhan Akhtar, who directed the earlier films, was expected to return as director, while the project was positioned as a major action entertainer. The film generated considerable attention following its announcement, but its production plans later became uncertain after reports emerged of disagreements involving Ranveer and Farhan.
Speaking about his connection with the project, Arjun Das confirmed that he had been in discussions with Farhan Akhtar. The Tamil actor, known for films such as Kaithi and Master, has built a strong following through roles that often combine an imposing screen presence with intense performances. His revelation indicates that casting discussions for Don 3 had progressed beyond the film’s principal cast, although there has been no official announcement about what role he was being considered for.

Arjun, however, made it clear that audiences should not expect to see him in Don 3 at this stage. While confirming that Farhan had approached him, he said the project “is not happening now”. His comments come at a time when the film’s future remains uncertain following the reported differences between Ranveer and Farhan. The actor’s remarks also suggest that the discussions he had with the filmmaker were connected to the earlier version of the project rather than a confirmed casting decision for any revised version.
Ranveer Singh’s involvement in Don 3 had been officially announced in 2023, when he was introduced as the new face of the franchise. The announcement followed Shah Rukh Khan’s two outings as Don in Don (2006) and Don 2 (2011), both directed by Farhan. The third film was expected to mark a new chapter for the series, but subsequent developments surrounding its casting and production have raised questions about whether and when the project will materialise.
For Arjun Das, the revelation adds another detail to the continuing uncertainty around Don 3. Although his discussions with Farhan confirm that he was considered for a role, there is currently no indication that the actor will be part of any future version of the film. With the previously announced project facing major changes, the cast, production plans and eventual direction of the franchise remain subject to further developments.
