Ananya Panday-Lakshya's 'Chand Mera Dil' Crosses Rs 20 Crore On Day 8

Romantic drama achieves Rs 20 crore milestone on day eight.

The romantic drama Chand Mera Dil, starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya, has crossed the Rs 20 crore mark at the domestic box office after completing its first week in theatres. The film, directed by Vivek Soni and produced by Karan Johar, entered its second week amid strong competition from other releases.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected an estimated Rs 1.30 crore nett in India on its eighth day, which was its second Friday in theatres. The latest figure represents a decline of around 40.9 per cent from its Thursday earnings, indicating a slowdown in momentum as the film moves beyond its opening week.

Despite the drop, Chand Mera Dil has maintained a steady theatrical run. With its second-Friday earnings included, the film’s total India nett collection has reached approximately Rs 20.75 crore. Its India gross collection currently stands at an estimated Rs 24.50 crore, reflecting consistent audience interest despite mixed critical reviews.

The film has also recorded modest returns from international markets. Overseas collections are estimated at Rs 3.05 crore, taking its worldwide gross total to around Rs 27.55 crore. While the numbers are not blockbuster-level, they provide additional support to the film's overall box office performance.

Released on May 22, Chand Mera Dil faced competition from the Hollywood release Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu at the time of its debut. In its second week, it has also been competing for screens and audiences with Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, starring Ayushmann Khurrana.

The film follows the story of Aarav and Chandni, portrayed by Lakshya and Ananya Panday respectively. The cast also includes Aastha Singh, Pratham Rathod, Aashish Dubey, Ankur Poddar and Elvis Jose in supporting roles. As the film enters its second weekend, trade analysts will be closely watching whether positive word-of-mouth can help sustain collections in the coming days.
