Amit Shah Launches BJP Poll Strategy Tour Across Four States
Amit Shah begins visits to four states to finalize BJP's assembly election strategies.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will begin a series of strategic visits to election-bound states from Sunday as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gears up for Assembly elections next year in Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. The fortnight-long tour is aimed at firming up the party’s electoral roadmap, strengthening grassroots organisation, and assessing political ground realities ahead of the crucial polls.
According to party sources, Shah will visit Assam on December 28 and 29, followed by West Bengal on December 30 and 31. His tour will continue with Tamil Nadu in the first week of January and Kerala in the second week of January. The Home Minister is expected to spend at least two days every month in these states until the elections, underlining the BJP leadership’s focus on expanding its footprint in regions currently ruled by non-NDA governments.
During his visits, Shah will hold extensive organisational meetings and interact with party workers, with a special emphasis on energising booth-level workers and Panna Pramukhs. The execution of the party’s ‘Mera Booth Sabse Majboot’ campaign will be a key focus area, as the BJP looks to strengthen its grassroots machinery and ensure effective mobilisation of voters.

BJP leaders said Shah is aiming to replicate the NDA’s recent electoral success in Bihar, where he is widely credited as the chief strategist behind the alliance’s victory. Despite challenges such as opposition campaigns on issues like the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Shah’s state-specific strategies and close coordination with party cadres played a decisive role in Bihar, sources added.
Apart from coordinating with NDA allies, Shah’s strategy also involves outreach to disgruntled leaders and rebels to prevent vote-splitting. During the Bihar elections, he is believed to have personally interacted with nearly 100 rebel leaders to address grievances and safeguard the party’s voter base.
The upcoming visits will also focus on identifying key local issues, countering rival parties’ narratives, and preparing responses to allegations on socio-economic matters such as employment, rural job schemes, and governance. Party leaders said the tour reflects the BJP’s intent to enter the 2026 Assembly elections with a well-prepared, ground-tested strategy under Shah’s direct supervision.
