Amish Tripathi Confirms No Film Rights Deal For The Immortals of Meluha With Ranveer Singh
Amish Tripathi denies reports of Ranveer Singh acquiring film rights for The Immortals of Meluha.
Reports circulating on social media claiming that actor Ranveer Singh has acquired the film rights to Amish Tripathi’s bestselling novel The Immortals of Meluha have been firmly denied by the author, who clarified that no such agreement has been finalised for any screen adaptation.
The speculation had suggested that the mythological novel would be developed into a large-scale film trilogy, with Ranveer reportedly attached to portray Lord Shiva. The rumours quickly gained traction online, sparking widespread discussion among fans of both the actor and the popular book series.
Amish Tripathi, however, dismissed these claims in a statement, making it clear that the rights to the Shiva Trilogy remain solely with him. He said, “The rights for the Shiva Trilogy are with me, and nothing has been signed with anyone as yet. Ranveer is one of the finest Indian actors ever, in my opinion. I am a big fan of his. But this news is not true.” His comments effectively shut down the ongoing speculation regarding any confirmed adaptation.

The Immortals of Meluha is the first book in Amish Tripathi’s widely read Shiva Trilogy, which also includes The Secret of the Nagas and The Oath of the Vayuputras. The series presents a fictional reinterpretation of Hindu mythology, centring on Shiva, a tribal leader from Tibet who travels to the empire of Meluha and is eventually recognised as the prophesied saviour, the Neelkanth.
Meanwhile, Ranveer continues to remain in the public eye with his recent film projects. According to the information shared, his film Dhurandhar 2 released in theatres on March 19 in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, and was directed by Aditya Dhar. While online buzz continues around a possible adaptation, no official confirmation has been made regarding The Immortals of Meluha entering production.
