Alia Bhatt’s Final Diwali at Vastu: Saying Goodbye to the Home Where Raha Was Born

Alia Bhatt celebrates final Diwali at Vastu home before moving into Kapoor family bungalow.

As Diwali 2025 illuminates homes across India, Bollywood star Alia Bhatt opened up about the emotional weight of celebrating the Festival of Lights for the final time at her Vastu residence in Mumbai, a home filled with cherished memories. In an interview with The Times of India on October 20, 2025, the actress revealed that this Diwali marks a poignant milestone as it is the last in the house where she married Ranbir Kapoor and where their daughter, Raha, was born, before the family transitions to a new luxurious bungalow.

“This is our last Diwali in the home where Raha was born, so it’s truly an emotional moment,” Alia shared, her voice tinged with nostalgia. “It’s also very thrilling because I realize she may not recall this particular Diwali, but the memories created will leave an impression on her. Diwali is all about emotions; it should evoke warmth and brightness.” Amid the chaos of moving, Alia expressed gratitude for this chapter, noting, “The magnitude of this feeling is such that I believe it will truly resonate with us months or perhaps a year after we settle in.”

The actress detailed her family’s Diwali plans, centered around a traditional Lakshmi Puja at home, followed by a heartfelt gathering with close friends and staff. “Raha will be eating laddoos and running around!” she said with a smile, describing a festive evening on their beloved Vastu balcony, the site of countless memories, including their wedding and past Diwali celebrations. This year’s celebration, Alia emphasized, will be grand, with a menu featuring “Vastu-specific” dishes and a guest list of friends invited with a note: “Last Diwali in Vastu. Please come and join. Bring a great attitude.” The dress code remains “festive but chill,” reflecting the family’s warm, inclusive vibe.

The move to their new residence, a luxurious bungalow with deep family roots, adds further significance. Originally owned by Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor, the property was passed down to Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in the 1980s. Alia, Ranbir along with Neetu, have been actively involved in overseeing its construction, marking a new chapter for the Kapoor legacy. As Alia bids an emotional farewell to Vastu on October 20, 2025, her Diwali celebration promises to blend tradition, nostalgia, and joy, leaving an indelible mark on her family and fans alike.
