Akshay Kumar Denies Fake AI Video Casting Him as Maharishi Valmiki

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar issued a strong statement on Tuesday, condemning a fake trailer that falsely depicts him as Maharishi Valmiki, created using artificial intelligence (AI). The actor took to social media to clarify that the AI-generated videos circulating online are entirely fabricated and urged media outlets to verify information before reporting it as news.

“I have recently come across some AI-generated videos showing me in the role of Maharishi Valmiki. I want to clarify that all such videos are fake and created using AI,” Kumar stated. He expressed concern over certain news channels amplifying these videos without authentication, describing the practice as misleading. “In today’s time, when misleading content is being produced at great speed through manipulative AI, I sincerely request media houses to verify and report only after authenticating the information,” he added.

Kumar’s statement follows a growing trend of celebrities, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Karan Johar, seeking legal protection against the unauthorized use of their name, image, voice, and likeness online. The misuse of AI to create deceptive content has raised alarms in the entertainment industry, prompting calls for stricter regulations and responsible reporting.

The actor, who recently starred in the courtroom comedy Jolly LLB 3 alongside Arshad Warsi, released on September 19, emphasized the need for vigilance in combating the spread of AI-generated misinformation. As deepfake technology becomes more sophisticated, Kumar’s appeal underscores the urgent need for media accountability and public awareness to curb the misuse of AI in manipulating public perception.
