Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya: Kay Kay Menon Leads Prime Video's New School Comedy-Drama
Kay Kay Menon-starrer comedy-drama premieres on Prime Video this Friday.
Kay Kay Menon is set to headline Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya, an upcoming comedy-drama series that tells the story of a determined group of educators working to revive a struggling government school. The series will premiere globally on Friday, July 24, and will stream exclusively on Prime Video. The first season consists of seven episodes, blending humour with heartfelt storytelling while highlighting the challenges faced by India's public education system.
Set in the fictional neighbourhood of Tinki Toli on the outskirts of Delhi, the series follows Gyaneshwar Tripathi, played by Kay Kay Menon, a relaxed and unassuming headmaster whose outlook changes after learning that the country's top-performing school principals will receive a fully sponsored training programme at the University of Cambridge. Motivated by the opportunity, he sets out to transform his underperforming school by bringing together a diverse team of teachers, each with their own unique personalities and teaching methods. Along the way, they confront disruptive students, inadequate infrastructure, bureaucratic hurdles and parents who have little confidence in the education system.
The ensemble cast features Archana Puran Singh, Naveen Kasturia, Prasanna Bisht, Abhimanyu Singh, Deven Bhojani, Ajitesh Gupta, Annapurna Soni and Prachee Shah alongside Menon. The series is directed by Himank Gaur and created by Biswapati Sarkar and Sameer Saxena, who also serve as executive producers under the Posham Pa Pictures banner. The screenplay has been written by Biswapati Sarkar, Akshay Asthana, Nupur Pai, Tatsat Pandey and Meghna Srivastava, bringing together a creative team known for character-driven storytelling and light-hearted comedy.
