TVS Apache RR 200 Mini Debuts With 110 Kmph Top Speed

TVS Racing has unveiled the Apache RR 200 Mini, a purpose-built race motorcycle developed specifically for young riders as part of its new Apache Junior Programme. Designed for children aged 10 to 14 years, the lightweight racing machine aims to provide structured motorcycle racing training in a controlled environment. TVS has handed over 10 units of the Apache RR 200 Mini to the Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC), where aspiring racers will train at the Madras International Karting Arena.

The Apache RR 200 Mini is powered by a race-tuned 197.75 cc engine derived from the Apache RTR 200 4V. The single-cylinder engine produces 23 PS at 9,500 rpm and 20.1 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, paired with a programmable TCI ignition system. TVS claims the motorcycle can reach a top speed of 110 kmph. It also features a 30 mm semi-flat-slide carburettor with a conical air filter and a race-spec free-flow exhaust, enhancing performance on the track.

Built exclusively for racing, the motorcycle comes equipped with premium suspension and braking components. At the front, it features a 35 mm upside-down (USD) fork with adjustable rebound, compression and preload, offering 100 mm of travel. The rear suspension uses a fully adjustable race shock with 90 mm of travel. Braking duties are handled by a 220 mm front disc and a 180 mm rear disc, while the motorcycle rides on 12-inch wheels fitted with race-compound Eurogrip BEE tyres measuring 110/70-12 at the front and 120/80-12 at the rear.

The Apache RR 200 Mini is based on a modified Apache RTR 200 4V chassis and features a shortened swingarm to suit younger riders. It has a seat height of 690 mm and a wheelbase of 1,180 mm, making it more manageable for children. The motorcycle also incorporates race-oriented features such as lightweight aerodynamic bodywork, a CNC billet-machined aluminium triple clamp, and a prototype aluminium fuel tank with a fibre cover designed to improve mass centralisation and handling.

TVS Racing has developed the motorcycle as the first step in a structured talent development programme. Under the Apache Junior Programme, young riders will receive professional racing training before progressing to the TVS One Make Championship Rookie category from the age of 15. Successful riders can then advance to the RR 310 Expert category and potentially compete in international motorcycle racing championships, creating a clear pathway for aspiring racers.

With a motorsport legacy dating back to 1982, TVS Racing says the Apache RR 200 Mini is not a scaled-down road motorcycle but a dedicated racing machine engineered to help young riders develop track skills from an early age. By combining race-spec hardware with age-appropriate ergonomics and a structured training programme, the company aims to strengthen grassroots motorcycle racing in India and nurture the next generation of professional racers.
