Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Launched in India at Rs 48.99 Lakh

Volkswagen India has unveiled the Tiguan R-Line SUV, its first R-Line variant in the country, priced at an introductory Rs 48.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Launched as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), this premium SUV aims to redefine the segment with its sporty design, advanced technology, and robust performance, setting the stage for Volkswagen’s upcoming locally produced Tayron 3-row SUV.

Powered by a 2.0-litre TSI EVO engine, the Tiguan R-Line delivers 204 PS and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission and 4MOTION all-wheel drive for dynamic handling across terrains. Built on the MQB EVO platform, it boasts a refined chassis and Level 2 ADAS with 21 features, including Lane Assist and Front Assist, alongside nine airbags for top-tier safety.

The SUV’s bold exterior features LED Plus headlights, 19-inch Coventry alloy wheels, and R-Line styling, while the cabin exudes luxury with a 15-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital cockpit, 30-color ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and massage-enabled sport seats. Available in six vibrant shades, it promises a premium experience.

With bookings open at Rs 25,000 and deliveries starting April 23, the limited-unit launch is designed to create buzz. Competing with the Audi Q3 and BMW X1, the Tiguan R-Line blends performance and sophistication, reinforcing Volkswagen’s premium mobility vision in India.
