Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella Electric SUV Showcases Five Key Highlights

Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella electric SUV features five key highlights.

Toyota has officially entered India’s electric vehicle market with the launch of the Urban Cruiser Ebella E3, priced at ₹23.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The model marks the Japanese automaker’s first all-electric SUV for India and positions itself in a rapidly expanding EV segment that includes rivals such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.

The Urban Cruiser Ebella is built on the HEARTECT-e platform, jointly developed with Suzuki, and shares its architecture with the e Vitara. Measuring 4,285 mm in length with a 2,700 mm wheelbase, the SUV is designed to maximise interior space through a flat-floor layout while retaining proportions typical of compact urban SUVs.

In terms of design, Toyota has adopted its Urban Tech styling language for the Ebella. It features a hammerhead-inspired front fascia, projector LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and pronounced body cladding for a rugged stance. At the rear, a full-width LED light bar enhances its modern appearance, while buyers are offered multiple single-tone and dual-tone colour options along with 18-inch alloy wheels on the E3 variant.

The SUV also comes with Level 2 ADAS, offering features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking.

On the powertrain front, Toyota offers the Ebella with battery options of 49 kWh and 61 kWh, with the E3 variant featuring the larger pack paired with a motor producing 172 bhp and 193 Nm of torque. The smaller battery variant delivers 142 bhp and 189 Nm. The long-range version is claimed to offer up to 543 km of driving range on a single charge, with support for both AC and DC fast charging, positioning it as a competitive option in India’s growing electric SUV market.
