Tesla sparks India debut with first-ever store launch in Mumbai!
Global electric vehicle titan Tesla is revving up for its official entry into the Indian market with the launch of its first experience center in Mumbai’s bustling Bandra Kurla Complex next week. The Elon Musk-led company has scheduled the grand unveiling event for July 15, marking a major milestone in Tesla’s global expansion.
Though Tesla remains tight-lipped, industry insiders reveal that the first batch of Model Y rear-wheel drive SUVs has already arrived from its China factory, signaling the company’s serious commitment to India. Last month, Tesla India leased a massive 24,565 square feet warehouse in Mumbai’s Lodha Logistics Park to support its growing operations.
While Tesla won’t be manufacturing cars domestically just yet — confirmed by Union Heavy Industries Minister H D Kumaraswamy — the focus is on creating a showroom presence that showcases Tesla’s cutting-edge electric vehicles to Indian consumers.

The move comes amid intense discussions over import tariffs. This launch arrives as Tesla faces slowing sales in key markets like Europe and China, making India a crucial new battleground for the EV giant’s growth ambitions.
