Tata Sierra EV First Drive Review Reveals Refined Design and Features
Tata Sierra EV first drive review tests design and features.
Tata Motors has showcased the capabilities of the Sierra EV during a first drive in Coimbatore, positioning the all-electric SUV as one of its most advanced electric vehicles to date. Tested across varying road conditions amid monsoon weather, the Sierra EV combines modern technology, premium features and all-wheel-drive capability, reflecting the company's continued push to strengthen its electric vehicle portfolio in India. The SUV is expected to compete with rivals such as the Mahindra BE 6e and the Harrier EV in the premium electric SUV segment.
The Sierra EV retains the iconic silhouette of the original Sierra while adopting a distinctly modern design language. It features a closed-off front grille, connected LED daytime running lights and EV-specific aerodynamic elements that differentiate it from its forthcoming petrol and diesel variants. The signature glasshouse and overall profile have been preserved, giving the SUV a contemporary appearance while maintaining its heritage-inspired identity.
Inside the cabin, Tata Motors has equipped the Sierra EV with several technology-focused upgrades aimed at enhancing convenience and comfort. The SUV supports keyless access and ignition through an NFC card, while its Auto Park Assist system allows drivers to park the vehicle remotely using the key fob. Other features include a 540-degree camera system, a large infotainment display and premium interior materials designed to provide an upmarket experience for passengers.

The first drive highlighted the vehicle's performance across a range of driving conditions, including wet roads created by heavy monsoon rain. The Sierra EV's all-wheel-drive system and refined driving dynamics were designed to deliver improved stability and confidence, particularly in challenging terrain. The combination of electric power, ride comfort and advanced driver-assistance features is intended to make the SUV suitable for both urban commuting and long-distance travel.
Tata Motors has been expanding its electric vehicle lineup as demand for zero-emission mobility continues to grow in India. The Sierra EV represents another step in the company's strategy to offer technologically advanced electric SUVs across multiple segments. With increasing competition from domestic manufacturers, the model is expected to play an important role in Tata's efforts to strengthen its position in the country's rapidly evolving EV market.
Although full specifications, pricing and availability are expected to be announced separately, the initial driving impressions suggest the Sierra EV delivers a balanced combination of design, technology and practicality. As the premium electric SUV segment continues to expand, the Sierra EV is set to compete on the strength of its heritage-inspired styling, feature-rich cabin and refined driving experience, making it one of Tata Motors' most significant electric launches in recent years.
