Tata Motors Smashes Records with 1 Lakh Deliveries in Navratri-Diwali Surge

Tata Motors reports a 33% sales surge, driven by strong SUV and EV demand, during the festive season.

Tata Motors has achieved a remarkable milestone, delivering over 100,000 passenger vehicles during the vibrant Navratri-to-Diwali period, marking a robust 33% growth compared to the same festive season last year. This stellar performance, announced by Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, underscores the company’s dominance in India’s automotive market. The surge was propelled by strong consumer demand for Tata’s Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) lineup, particularly the Nexon and Punch, alongside a significant uptick in electric vehicle (EV) adoption.

The SUV portfolio led the charge, with the Tata Nexon emerging as a standout performer, retailing over 38,000 units and achieving an impressive 73% year-on-year growth during the festive period. The Tata Punch followed closely, with 32,000 units sold and a 29% growth compared to the previous year. These figures highlight the appeal of Tata’s distinctive design language and strong safety credentials, which continue to resonate with Indian consumers seeking reliable and stylish vehicles.

Tata Motors also made significant strides in its electric mobility initiatives, retailing over 10,000 EVs during the festive season, a 37% increase from the previous year. This growth reflects growing consumer confidence in Tata’s EV offerings and positions the company as a leader in India’s green mobility transition. The combination of internal combustion engine (ICE) and EV success underscores Tata’s strategic focus on catering to diverse market preferences.

As Tata Motors continues to innovate and expand its portfolio, its record-breaking festive season performance signals a bright future in India’s competitive automotive landscape.
