Strong Demand Boosts Kia India Sales As Seltos, Sonet Lead Growth
Kia India sees strong growth led by Seltos, Sonet and Carens demand.
Kia India reported strong sales growth for March 2026 and the first quarter of the calendar year, driven by sustained demand across its sport utility vehicle (SUV) and multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) lineup. The automaker recorded wholesale dispatches of 29,112 units in March, marking a 14.5 percent increase compared to 25,525 units in the same month last year.
For the January–March quarter, Kia India posted total sales of 84,316 units, reflecting an 11.6 percent rise from 75,576 units in the corresponding period of 2025. The company attributed this growth to consistent performance across its key models, particularly the Kia Seltos, which continues to serve as its primary volume driver.
Company officials highlighted that the Seltos has maintained monthly sales above the 10,000-unit mark since its launch, supported by updated design elements, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and a five-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP). This has helped the model strengthen its position in India’s competitive midsize SUV segment.

In addition to the Seltos, the Kia Sonet and the Kia Carens continued to contribute significantly to overall volumes. The Sonet has seen steady demand in the compact SUV segment, aided by expanded availability of automatic transmission options across both petrol and diesel variants. Meanwhile, the Carens lineup, including internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric variants, has maintained traction with its focus on comfort, practicality, and premium features.
Commenting on the performance, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing at Kia India, said the company achieved its highest-ever March sales and strongest quarterly results to date. He noted that continuous product enhancements aligned with evolving customer preferences have played a key role in sustaining demand across the portfolio.
Looking ahead, Kia India said it aims to maintain its growth momentum through new product launches, expanded market reach, and a continued focus on advanced safety technologies and customer experience. The company also emphasized its commitment to future-ready mobility solutions as it navigates a rapidly evolving automotive landscape in India.
