Skoda Octavia RS Second Batch Priced At Rs 56.69 Lakh, 50 Units Available

Second Octavia RS batch brings 50 units to India.

Skoda Auto India has introduced a second batch of the Octavia RS performance sedan at an ex-showroom price of Rs 56.69 lakh, with only 50 units allocated for the country. The latest batch follows the strong response to the first allocation of 100 units, which was sold out before deliveries began last year. Deliveries of the new batch are scheduled to begin next week, making the performance-focused sedan a limited offering in the Indian market.

The second batch carries a price increase of Rs 6.70 lakh over the initial allocation, which was priced at Rs 49.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Octavia RS is imported into India as a completely built unit, contributing to its relatively high price. The limited 50-unit allocation is expected to keep availability restricted, while buyers can choose from Mamba Green, Velvet Red and Magic Black exterior finishes.

The Octavia RS is powered by Volkswagen Group’s EA888 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which also features in performance models such as the Volkswagen Golf GTI. In the Skoda, the engine produces 265 hp and 370 Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the front wheels through a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox, with Skoda claiming a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 6.4 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.

The performance sedan also receives mechanical upgrades aimed at delivering a sportier driving experience than the standard Octavia. These include progressive steering, sports suspension, a more advanced chassis setup and a sports exhaust system. Visually, the RS gets a sportier front bumper, gloss-black exterior elements, RS-specific detailing and 19-inch alloy wheels, along with Matrix LED headlamps and LED tail-lamps featuring dynamic indicators.

Despite its performance-oriented character, the Octavia RS retains the practicality associated with the standard model. Its liftback body offers a 600-litre boot, which can be expanded to 1,555 litres with the rear seats folded. The sedan measures 4,709mm in length, 1,829mm in width and 1,457mm in height, with a 2,677mm wheelbase. Inside, the cabin features black sports seats with contrasting red elements, electric adjustment with memory, heating and massage functions, and a range of comfort and connectivity features.

Equipment includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, three-zone climate control, wireless phone charging and an 11-speaker Canton audio system with a subwoofer. Safety features include 10 airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist, intelligent park assist, a 360-degree Area View camera and a head-up display. The combination of performance, equipment and limited availability positions the Octavia RS as a niche offering for buyers seeking a performance sedan with everyday practicality.
