Mahindra Names Abhay Deol Ambassador for Thar Roxx Star Edition SUV

Mahindra & Mahindra has unveiled the first-ever special edition of its popular SUV, the Thar Roxx, called the Star Edition, with Bollywood actor Abhay Deol as its brand ambassador. The automaker released a promotional video featuring Deol, highlighting the SUV’s updated styling and premium features.

In the advertisement, Abhay Deol approaches the Thar Roxx under a spotlight, takes the wheel, and drives around to showcase the vehicle’s visual enhancements. The clip concludes with Deol walking away while the spotlight remains on the SUV, symbolising its “star” status.

The Star Edition introduces several aesthetic upgrades over the standard Thar Roxx, including a piano black grille, alloy wheels with a metallic finish, and the Star Edition badge. The featured vehicle is in Citrine Yellow, with additional options including Tango Red, Everest White, and Stealth Black.

Inside, the SUV sports an all-black theme with leatherette upholstery, suede accents, and a host of modern features: dual 10.25-inch screens for instrumentation and infotainment, front ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, and a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. The vehicle also includes multiple terrain modes and all-LED lighting.

Mechanically, the Star Edition retains the same powertrains as the standard Thar Roxx: a 2.2-litre diesel or 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, paired with manual or automatic transmissions. However, this edition is available only with rear-wheel drive, excluding the 4x4 option.
