JK Tyre Launches India’s First Embedded Smart Tyres with Real-Time Monitoring

JK Tyre & Industries Ltd has unveiled a breakthrough in India’s automotive sector with the launch of the country’s first embedded Smart Tyres for passenger vehicles. Introduced as a leap toward connected and sustainable mobility, the innovation features advanced sensors integrated directly into the tyre structure, capable of delivering real-time insights on air pressure, temperature, and potential air leaks. The technology aims to enhance vehicle safety, fuel efficiency, and overall performance, marking a new milestone for homegrown automotive innovation.

The embedded Smart Tyres have been designed and developed entirely in-house at JK Tyre’s state-of-the-art Banmore facility in Madhya Pradesh. Unlike conventional Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS), these advanced tyres integrate sensor-based intelligence within the tyre, eliminating the need for external attachments. Drivers can now receive precise, real-time data that can help reduce accidents, improve fuel economy, and increase tyre longevity through proactive maintenance alerts.

Emphasizing the company’s commitment to the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’ initiatives, Dr Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, described the development as a defining moment in the company’s innovation journey. “By integrating intelligence at the very core of tyre performance, we are transforming how India drives—making mobility smarter, safer, and more sustainable,” he said.

Initially, the embedded Smart Tyres will be available across JK Tyre’s nationwide dealership network, covering sizes between 14 and 17 inches. The company expects strong adoption in both retail and fleet markets as customers become increasingly aware of the benefits of connected mobility solutions. Beyond safety and efficiency, the new Smart Tyres are also engineered for extended tread life and reduced environmental impact, aligning with global sustainability trends in the transport sector.

JK Tyre has long been a pioneer in intelligent mobility solutions, having introduced its first ‘SMART Tyre’ range in 2019 equipped with cloud-based analytics and TREEL sensors. That earlier innovation set the stage for the brand’s latest advancement—embedding smart technology within the tyre itself. With the debut of India’s first embedded Smart Tyres, JK Tyre has reaffirmed its reputation as a leader in technological excellence, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in automotive engineering and connected transportation.
