Harley-Davidson X440 Range Gets Price Hike Without Mechanical Changes
Harley-Davidson X440 becomes costlier across all variants in India.
Harley-Davidson has revised the prices of its entry-level motorcycle in India, the X440, making the model range costlier by up to ₹5,000 across variants. The update applies to all three trims of the roadster—Vivid, S, and T—without any accompanying mechanical or feature changes. The X440, developed in collaboration with Hero MotoCorp, remains the most affordable offering from the American brand in the Indian market.
The entry-level X440 Vivid variant has seen a marginal increase of ₹1,000, taking its new ex-showroom price to ₹2.36 lakh. The mid-spec X440 S has become costlier by ₹4,000 and is now priced at ₹2.59 lakh. The top-end X440 T, which receives the most features in the lineup, has recorded the highest hike of ₹5,000, pushing its price to ₹2.84 lakh (ex-showroom). The revision comes without any changes to design, performance, or equipment levels.
The motorcycle continues to be powered by a 440cc single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine producing 27 hp and 38 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The powertrain is known for its strong low-end torque delivery and relaxed highway cruising character, making it suitable for both city commuting and long-distance rides. The X440 has been positioned as a premium roadster blending traditional styling cues with modern engineering.

The top-spec X440 T remains the most feature-rich variant in the lineup. It is equipped with ride-by-wire technology, multiple riding modes, switchable traction control, and switchable ABS, enhancing its safety and riding versatility. The variant also features design updates such as a revised rear section, new grab rails, and a redesigned subframe, giving it a slightly distinct visual identity compared to the lower trims.
With the revised pricing, the X440 now faces increased competition in the mid-capacity motorcycle segment, where it rivals models such as the Triumph Speed 400, Honda CB350RS, and Royal Enfield Classic 350. While the price hike places it slightly higher in the segment, the motorcycle continues to appeal to buyers seeking a combination of classic Harley-Davidson branding and practical everyday usability.
Despite the increased cost, the X440 remains a key model for Harley-Davidson in India, supported by its partnership with Hero MotoCorp, which has enabled localized production and competitive pricing in the premium motorcycle segment. Industry observers note that the model’s positioning will continue to rely on its brand appeal and balanced performance package.
