Hardeep Singh Brar Takes Helm at BMW Group India as New President and CEO

Hardeep Singh Brar joins BMW Group India as CEO from September 2025.

BMW Group India has announced Hardeep Singh Brar as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2025. Brar, formerly the Senior Vice President and National Head of Sales & Marketing at Kia India until June 30, succeeds Vikram Pawah, who will now lead BMW Group Australia and New Zealand.

Jean-Philippe Parain, Senior Vice President for Region Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa at BMW Group, praised Brar’s appointment, stating, “India is a fast-growing market and a key pillar for BMW Group’s long-term success. Hardeep Singh Brar’s deep expertise in the Indian automotive industry positions him perfectly to drive our operations forward.” Parain also acknowledged Pawah’s significant contributions to BMW Group India’s strategic growth.

Brar brings over 30 years of experience, having held senior roles at Maruti-Suzuki, Volkswagen, General Motors, Nissan, and Great Wall Motor Company. A Mechanical Engineering graduate from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Punjab, he is also an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Senior Executive Leadership Program.

Vikram Pawah, who led BMW Group India from 2017-2018 and 2020-2025, leaves a legacy of market expansion and innovative strategies. Brar’s leadership is expected to further strengthen BMW’s position in India’s dynamic automotive landscape.
