From Orange Huracán To Yellow Urus: Pandya’s Lamborghini Journey

Hardik Pandya buys a Lamborghini Urus SE with hybrid tech and 800 hp, priced at ₹4.57 crore.

Indian cricket star Hardik Pandya, celebrated for his aggressive all-round play and flair off the field, has expanded his enviable garage with the Lamborghini Urus SE, the Italian automaker's flagship plug-in hybrid SUV. The 31-year-old Mumbai Indians captain, fresh from leading India to victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup, was recently spotted with the vehicle in Mumbai, fuelling social media excitement among fans. Finished in the eye-catching Giallo Auge yellow, the Urus SE represents Pandya's latest indulgence in high-performance motoring, blending raw power with eco-conscious hybrid tech. This acquisition underscores his status as one of cricket's wealthiest personalities, with net assets estimated at over INR 100 crore from endorsements with brands like CRED and Noise.

Launched in India in August 2024, the Urus SE marks Lamborghini's first electrified SUV, combining a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack for a combined output of 800 horsepower and 950 Nm of torque. This setup propels the 2,300-kg beast from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 312 km/h and an electric-only range of about 60 km—ideal for urban commutes in emission-restricted zones like Delhi. Design updates include sleeker LED matrix headlights, a redesigned front bumper for better aerodynamics, and a sportier rear diffuser.

Inside, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen anchors the infotainment, complemented by premium upholstery, enhanced air vents, and improved seating for five. Priced at an ex-showroom starting point of INR 4.57 crore, the model aligns with Lamborghini's push toward sustainability while retaining its supercar DNA, competing against rivals like the Ferrari Purosangue and Aston Martin DBX.

Pandya's affinity for Lamborghinis dates back to 2019, when viral videos captured him and his brother Krunal cruising Mumbai's Bandra streets in an orange Lamborghini Huracán EVO. The sighting sparked ownership rumours, but Pandya clarified in a YouTube interview with UK07 Rider that it was merely a courtesy test drive arranged by the dealership. "No, I don’t own it. They themselves had sent me to do a test drive in it, and the pictures went viral in the media," he recounted.

That Huracán, in Arancio Argos orange, featured a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine delivering 571 bhp and 600 Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission for 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a 325 km/h top end. Priced between INR 3.56 crore and 4.41 crore then, it was a pure petrol two-seater coupe, contrasting the family-friendly Urus SE's hybrid versatility.

The evolution from the 2019 Huracán to the 2025 Urus SE highlights shifts in Pandya's lifestyle and automotive trends. Where the earlier model emphasised unadulterated track thrills, the new SUV balances performance with practicality, reflecting broader industry moves toward hybridisation amid global emission norms. As Pandya eyes the IPL 2026 auction and potential national captaincy, his car choices continue to mirror his bold persona. Fans speculate on Instagram whether a track day at Buddh International Circuit is next, but for now, the Urus SE cements his spot in India's elite auto enthusiast circle alongside peers like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni.
