Citroën eC3 X Teased With New Styling And Features For India Market

Citroën teases updated eC3 X with design and feature upgrades.

Citroën has teased the updated eC3 X ahead of its upcoming launch in India, signalling a mid-cycle refresh for its entry-level electric hatchback. The model will follow the brand’s revised naming strategy, adopting the “X” suffix, and is expected to bring both cosmetic and feature upgrades while retaining its core electric powertrain. The teaser indicates that the refreshed version will focus on improved styling, enhanced comfort features, and updated technology.

On the exterior, the Citroën eC3 X is expected to feature noticeable design revisions aimed at giving it a more premium and rugged appearance. The front fascia is likely to receive a redesigned bumper with a silver skid plate-style insert, along with updated LED daytime running lamps and LED fog lamps. Additional changes may include new dual-tone alloy wheels and ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, aligning the model with Citroën’s latest design language seen across its updated lineup.

Inside the cabin, the eC3 X is expected to receive several new features designed to improve convenience and driving comfort. These may include a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel and dashboard, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, fast-charging USB Type-C ports, cruise control with a speed limiter, and an auto-dimming internal rearview mirror. Higher variants could also offer a 360-degree camera system, while retaining the existing 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

In terms of safety, the updated model is likely to come equipped with multiple enhancements, including six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), hill-hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), speed-sensitive door locks, and an engine immobiliser. These additions aim to strengthen the hatchback’s safety package in a competitive entry-level EV segment.

Mechanically, the Citroën eC3 X is expected to continue with the same 29.2 kWh battery pack as the current model, delivering a claimed range of around 320 km on a single charge. The electric motor is likely to produce 57 PS of power and 143 Nm of torque, with a top speed of approximately 107 km/h. While performance remains unchanged, the focus of the update appears to be on design refinement and feature enrichment.

Pricing will play a crucial role in the model’s market positioning, especially as it competes with rivals such as the Tata Punch EV and other affordable electric vehicles in India. The current eC3 is priced in the range of ₹12.9 lakh to ₹13.26 lakh (ex-showroom), and Citroën is expected to maintain a competitive pricing strategy to strengthen its foothold in the growing electric vehicle segment.
