Bronco Sport & Escape SUVs at Risk of Catching Fire!

Ford recalls over 694,000 Bronco Sport and Escape SUVs nationwide for faulty fuel injectors that could spark fires.

Ford has dropped a bombshell, recalling over 694,000 Bronco Sport and Escape SUVs due to a dangerous fuel injector flaw that could spark fires. The issue, linked to cracking fuel injectors, poses a serious risk if fuel leaks into the engine compartment near a hot engine or exhaust, potentially turning your ride into a fireball.

The recall targets 2021-2024 Bronco Sport and 2020-2022 Escape models with 1.5L engines. Ford’s been grappling with this problem since 2022, with its field review committee greenlighting recalls in November 2022, March 2024, and March 2025 for software updates. But the danger persists—eight vehicles with cracked injectors caught fire under the hood, six of which missed the latest engine control software. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

Ford’s digging deeper, pinpointing corrosion as a possible culprit behind the injector cracks. For now, the company’s offering free engine control software updates as a temporary fix. Affected owners will get a heads-up letter starting August 18, with a follow-up once a permanent solution is ready.

If you drive one of these SUVs, don’t wait—contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and mention recall number 25S76. With hundreds of thousands of vehicles at stake, this fiery flaw is a wake-up call for Bronco Sport and Escape owners to act fast and stay safe.
