Audi Reveals R26 F1 Car in Berlin: Hulkenberg, Bortoleto Lead 2026 Campaign
Audi unveils the R26 F1 car with a titanium-carbon livery for its 2026 debut.
Audi Revolut F1 has officially revealed its car for the 2026 Formula 1 season, marking the German manufacturer’s debut as a full works team after acquiring the Stake F1 Team. The launch took place in Berlin and showcased the R26, a car designed to compete under the new 2026 F1 regulations. The team’s drivers for the season are Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto, continuing their partnership from last year, which saw Hulkenberg claim his first podium and Bortoleto impress with five points-scoring finishes in his rookie campaign.
The R26 chassis and race operations will be managed from Sauber’s Hinwil facility in Switzerland, ensuring continuity in car development and trackside performance. Audi’s power unit is being developed in Neuburg an der Donau, Germany, supported by a technology centre in Bicester, UK, reflecting a multinational approach combining German engineering precision with international collaboration.
Earlier this month, Audi ran a 2026-spec car during a filming day in Barcelona, offering fans a first glimpse of its readiness. Following the Berlin launch, the team will return to Barcelona for Shakedown Week, a three-day testing period for all 11 F1 teams to evaluate their new machinery.

The R26 sports a titanium finish with exposed carbon fibre and bold Lava Red accents, first previewed in last year’s concept. The car is built to comply with new regulations, including hybrid power units with a nearly equal petrol-electric split, active aerodynamics, and sustainable fuel blends. As a works team, Audi will power the car with its in-house engine.
Drivers expressed excitement about the new venture. Nico Hulkenberg said, “We are a true works team with a clear, long-term vision backed by immense resources and world-class expertise. For a driver, the proposition of being with Audi at the very start of its journey is exceptionally exciting.” Gabriel Bortoleto added, “To race for the Four Rings, a brand with such an iconic and victorious history in motorsport, is a dream come true. I feel the weight of the responsibility, but I am motivated to push and grow with this team.”
With its blend of experience, innovation, and engineering excellence, Audi Revolut F1 aims to make a strong impression in its debut season, combining Sauber’s established infrastructure with Audi’s motorsport heritage. The R26 will hit the track in Melbourne for the season opener, beginning a new chapter for the Four Rings in Formula 1.
