Ultraviolette Automotive, India's pioneering electric vehicle manufacturer, unveiled the much-anticipated Ultraviolette X47 electric crossover motorcycle in the Indian market, marking a significant leap in two-wheeler electric mobility. Priced at an introductory ex-showroom rate of ₹2.49 lakh for the first 1,000 customers, the X47 offers exceptional value with its advanced features and performance. Post this limited batch, the base price will adjust to ₹2.74 lakh, reflecting the premium engineering behind this machine. This launch builds on Ultraviolette's established F77 platform, transforming the conceptual X from EICMA 2024 into a production-ready powerhouse designed for dual-purpose versatility—seamless urban commuting and rugged adventure riding.

The X47's striking aesthetics draw directly from the X Concept, featuring sharp, angular lines reminiscent of fighter jets, a minimalist single-piece seat for enhanced ergonomics, a robust cast aluminium frame for superior structural integrity, and an integrated windscreen for wind protection during high-speed cruises. Measuring approximately 2,100mm in length with a wheelbase optimized for stability, the X47 tips the scales at around 180kg (kerb weight), making it agile yet planted on diverse terrains. Its crossover DNA shines through with 17-inch alloy wheels shod in dual-purpose tires, capable of tackling both tarmac and light off-road trails, appealing to riders seeking an all-in-one electric companion.

At the heart of the X47 lies a sophisticated 10.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, air-cooled for efficient thermal management and equipped with advanced safeguards like surge protection, earth leakage detection, and overcharge prevention to ensure rider safety in varying conditions. This powers a high-revving electric motor delivering 40 horsepower (approximately 30 kW) and an astonishing 610Nm of instant wheel torque, propelling the bike from a standstill to 60 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds—a feat that rivals many internal combustion superbikes. The top speed clocks in at 145 km/h, governed for safety and efficiency. Ultraviolette claims an IDC-certified range of 323 kilometers on a single charge under standard test conditions, factoring in mixed riding modes and real-world variables like rider weight (up to 100kg) and ambient temperature. Charging is user-friendly with a standard 1.6 kW onboard charger, achieving 0-80% in about 3-4 hours via a standard 15A socket, while fast DC charging options (up to 6 kW) can reduce this to under 2 hours at compatible stations.

What truly sets the X47 apart is Ultraviolette's proprietary "UV Hypersense" advanced rider assistance suite (ADAS), a world-first integration of radar and camera technology in a motorcycle. A rear-mounted 77GHz millimeter-wave radar provides 150-degree blind-spot monitoring with detection range up to 200 meters, enabling proactive alerts for lane changes, rear collisions, overtakes, and traffic maneuvers. Complementing this are front- and rear-facing HD cameras that double as dashcams, capturing 1080p footage with loop recording and G-sensor for incident protection. A secondary TFT display mounted above the primary 7-inch color instrument cluster streams live camera feeds and ADAS notifications in real-time, ensuring riders stay informed without distraction. Ultraviolette has also introduced a limited Desert Wing edition, inspired by rally aesthetics with sand-gold accents and reinforced crash guards, ideal for adventure enthusiasts. Deliveries are slated to commence in October 2025 from Ultraviolette's expanded network of 50+ dealerships across major cities, with a comprehensive 5-year/100,000 km vehicle warranty, 3-year unlimited km motor warranty, and 24/7 roadside assistance. The company plans to scale production at its Hosur facility to meet demand, targeting 10,000 units annually.
