Triumph Announces April 6 Launch of 350cc Motorcycles Eligible For 18% GST
Triumph launches 350cc motorcycles on April 6 in India, leveraging lower 18% GST for competitive pricing.
Triumph Motorcycles is set to launch its new 350cc range in India on April 6, 2026, targeting a wider audience with competitive pricing and eligibility for the lower 18 percent GST slab. The upcoming lineup follows the positive reception of Triumph’s Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X models, developed in collaboration with Bajaj, and represents a strategic move to strengthen the brand’s presence in the mid-capacity motorcycle segment.
Under India’s Goods and Services Tax regulations, motorcycles below 350cc attract an 18 percent tax, while models above that threshold are subject to a 40 percent GST. By designing the new range at the 350cc limit, Triumph aims to offer a more attractive price point, positioning its motorcycles competitively against rivals such as Royal Enfield’s Classic 350, the Honda CB350, and Harley-Davidson’s X440.
While Triumph has not disclosed detailed specifications, the new models are expected to deliver slightly lower power compared to the larger 400cc engines, with an estimated drop of 4 to 5 horsepower. The focus appears to be on low-end torque, smooth performance, and a distinctive exhaust note that aligns with Triumph’s signature riding experience.

The 350cc range also signals a potential shift in strategy for Bajaj, which manufactures motorcycles under multiple brands including Bajaj, KTM, Husqvarna, and Triumph. Industry analysts expect other models under these brands to adopt similar engine capacities in the future, aiming to balance price and performance effectively for Indian consumers.
Triumph’s launch of the 350cc motorcycles is being closely watched, as it could redefine the competitive dynamics in India’s mid-capacity segment, attracting first-time buyers as well as enthusiasts seeking performance motorcycles with favourable taxation. The April 6 debut is expected to generate significant anticipation, with pre-orders and dealer inquiries likely to increase ahead of the official launch.
This move demonstrates Triumph’s continued commitment to expanding its market share in India while leveraging tax advantages and strategic collaborations to offer high-quality motorcycles at competitive price points.
