Tata Sierra Smart+ Base Variant Offers Bi-LED Headlamps, ESP, ISOFIX, and 1.5L Engines

The Tata Sierra Smart+ base variant features 1.5L petrol/diesel engines, 6 airbags, ESP, and premium tech for safe, comfortable drives.

Tata Motors has relaunched the iconic Tata Sierra SUV in India with an introductory ex-showroom price starting at Rs 11.49 lakh for the base Smart+ variant, marking the revival of a nameplate absent since 2003. The entry-level trim offers a compelling mix of modern styling, essential comfort features, and robust safety equipment, positioning it as a value-orientated option in the competitive mid-size SUV segment against rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

The Smart+ variant comes equipped with notable exterior and convenience features, including:

  • Bi-LED projector headlamps
  • Lightsaber LED DRLs and tail lamps
  • Electrically adjustable ORVMs with turn indicators
  • Flush door handles with welcome lights
  • Follow-me-home headlamps
  • Electric tailgate release
  • All power windows
  • Tilt and telescopic steering with illuminated logo
  • Front sliding armrest with storage
  • Rear AC vents
  • Type A and Type C 45W USB ports
  • Rear window sunshade
  • Central locking

Safety remains a strong suit for Tata vehicles, and the base Sierra upholds this with standard six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, ABS with EBD, and an electronic stability programme incorporating over 20 functions such as rollover mitigation, traction control, hill ascent control, and dynamic torque vectoring. Additional aids include ISOFIX child seat mounts, rear parking sensors, a perimeter alarm system, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.

Powertrain options for the Smart+ are limited to a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated Revotron petrol engine delivering 106 PS and 145 Nm, or a 1.5-litre Kryojet turbo-diesel producing 118 PS and 260 Nm, both paired exclusively with manual transmissions. Higher variants introduce more powerful engines and automatic gearboxes.

While the base trim skips premium touches like a touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, and automatic climate control—reserved for upper trims—it includes a 10.16 cm digital instrument cluster for essential driver information.

This well-equipped entry point underscores Tata's strategy to democratise premium features, with bookings opening soon and deliveries expected from early 2026, making the revived Sierra an appealing choice for budget-conscious buyers seeking style, safety, and practicality.
