Royal Enfield Breaks All Records with 1.24 Lakh Bikes Sold in a Month
Royal Enfield hits record sales with 43% growth in September 2025.
Royal Enfield, the iconic motorcycle brand under Eicher Motors Ltd., has achieved a monumental milestone by recording its highest-ever monthly sales in September 2025, with a total of 1,24,328 units sold. This represents a staggering 43% year-over-year (YoY) growth compared to the 86,978 units sold in September 2024. The surge is attributed to the onset of the festive season in India, which traditionally boosts consumer spending on big-ticket items like motorcycles.
Domestic sales led the charge, climbing to 1,13,573 units from 79,325 the previous year, while exports also saw a robust 41% increase, rising from 7,653 to 10,755 units. This performance underscores Royal Enfield's expanding global footprint and enduring appeal among riders seeking premium, adventure-oriented bikes.
B. Govindarajan, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd. and CEO of Royal Enfield, expressed enthusiasm about the results, stating that the company has crossed the 100,000 retail volume mark for the first time in a single month. He highlighted the significant efforts made to ensure customers could acquire their preferred models during the festive rush, including ramped-up production and distribution.
A key highlight was the launch of the upgraded Meteor 350 in September, which has garnered positive feedback from the brand's loyal community. Govindarajan emphasized that both new and existing models are performing exceptionally well, fueling confidence in sustained growth momentum for the fiscal year ahead. This optimism is backed by year-to-date (YTD) figures, showing a 30% overall increase in sales to 5,91,903 units for 2025-26, compared to 4,54,780 in the prior period.
The sales breakdown reveals impressive gains across segments. For the YTD period, domestic sales have grown by 27% to 5,21,482 units, while exports have skyrocketed by 60% to 70,421 units, reflecting Royal Enfield's successful international expansion strategies. The brand's focus on mid-size motorcycles, known for their classic styling and reliability, continues to resonate with a diverse customer base, from urban commuters to long-distance tourers. Industry analysts attribute this growth to Royal Enfield's innovative product lineup, strong brand heritage, and effective marketing campaigns that emphasize adventure and community.
