KTM Launches Updated 790 Duke With Sharper Styling And Improved Hardware

KTM launches 790 Duke with sharper styling updates.

The updated version of the KTM 790 Duke has been officially unveiled, introducing a series of refinements focused on ergonomics, weight reduction, and hardware upgrades. While the engine architecture remains unchanged, the middleweight naked motorcycle now features revised design elements and mechanical improvements aimed at enhancing overall ride dynamics. The model is expected to go on sale in international markets from the end of July.

The new iteration of the KTM 790 Duke places significant emphasis on rider comfort and control. KTM has introduced a redesigned handlebar with a wider opening angle, repositioned footpegs for both rider and pillion, and a reworked seat designed to offer a more natural riding posture. These changes are supported by a revised subframe, updated triple clamps, and a reshaped fuel tank, all of which are intended to improve front-end feedback and overall riding confidence.

Despite the addition of new components and structural updates, the motorcycle has managed to shed approximately 2 kg compared to its predecessor. KTM claims this reduction contributes to improved agility and handling characteristics, particularly in urban riding conditions and aggressive cornering scenarios. The ergonomic changes are also expected to make longer rides more comfortable without compromising the bike’s sporty character.

On the design front, the updated 790 Duke now aligns more closely with KTM’s latest styling direction seen across its larger displacement models. It features a redesigned LED headlamp unit, sharper body panels, a more pronounced front cowl, and a sculpted fuel tank. These visual enhancements give the motorcycle a more aggressive and contemporary appearance while reinforcing its “Scalpel” identity in the middleweight naked segment.

Mechanically, the motorcycle continues to be powered by the Euro 5+ compliant 799cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin LC8c engine, delivering 105 hp and 87 Nm of torque. A lower-powered 95 hp variant will also be available in select international markets. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, slip-and-assist clutch, and a revised exhaust system, ensuring compliance with updated emission norms while maintaining the model’s performance-oriented character.
