Honda ADV160 Unveiled With 157cc Engine and E85 Compatibility

Honda ADV160 unveiled with adventure styling and E85 fuel compatibility.

Honda has unveiled the ADV160 in India, introducing a new maxi-scooter with adventure-inspired styling to its domestic two-wheeler portfolio. Designed as a practical urban scooter with rugged design elements, the ADV160 will be manufactured locally and exported to international markets, according to the company. Local production is also expected to help Honda maintain competitive pricing when the scooter is officially launched in the Indian market.

The ADV160 draws its design inspiration from Honda's larger X-ADV adventure scooter, featuring a tall adjustable windscreen, twin LED headlamps and block-pattern tyres. The scooter adopts a muscular, adventure-oriented appearance while retaining the practicality expected from a premium urban commuter. Honda has positioned the model under its "City Adventure" concept, targeting riders seeking a combination of everyday usability and distinctive styling.

One of the key highlights of the ADV160 is its E85 fuel compatibility, making it among the first scooters showcased in India capable of running on fuel blends containing up to 85 per cent ethanol. The feature reflects Honda's focus on supporting alternative fuel technologies and improving compatibility with evolving fuel standards. The company believes the capability could appeal to buyers looking for more future-ready mobility solutions.

The scooter is equipped with a range of modern features, including a TFT instrument display with Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity, allowing riders to access navigation and communication functions. Additional equipment includes a USB charging port, Honda Selectable Torque Control, single-channel ABS and a 27-litre under-seat storage compartment designed to enhance everyday convenience for commuters and touring riders alike.

Powering the ADV160 is a 157cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The engine produces 16.3 hp and 14.9 Nm of peak torque, delivering smooth automatic performance for both city riding and longer journeys. Honda has highlighted the scooter's E85 compatibility as one of its defining technological features alongside its premium equipment list.

The ADV160 is built on a suspension setup comprising telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. It rides on a 14-inch front wheel and a 13-inch rear wheel, while weighing 133 kg. The scooter offers a seat height of 780 mm, ground clearance of 165 mm and an 8.1-litre fuel tank, specifications aimed at balancing comfort, practicality and capability for a variety of riding conditions.
