BMW F 450 GS Launch Date, Specs and Expected Price Revealed

The BMW F 450 GS will launch in India on April 23 with a 420cc twin engine, advanced features, and premium ADV styling.

BMW Motorrad has officially confirmed that the BMW F 450 GS will be launched in India on April 23, marking its entry into the competitive mid-capacity adventure segment. The much-anticipated motorcycle was earlier showcased as a concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025, and this will be its first appearance in full production form in the Indian market.

Positioned as a premium adventure tourer, the BMW F 450 GS will compete directly with models like the KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and CFMoto 450MT. Unlike the smaller G 310 GS, the new F 450 GS is built on a more powerful platform and is expected to carry a starting price of around ₹5 lakh (ex-showroom), targeting enthusiasts looking for performance and touring capability.

Powering the motorcycle is a 420cc parallel-twin engine that produces approximately 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and comes equipped with a slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter, enhancing both performance and riding comfort. This setup places it firmly in the higher-performance bracket within the segment.

In terms of hardware, the F 450 GS features upside-down (USD) front forks and a rear monoshock suspension setup, designed to handle both on-road and off-road conditions. It rides on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, fitted with dual-purpose tyres to support adventure touring. The design takes inspiration from larger GS models, featuring a signature beak-style front, a muscular stance, and exposed frame elements for a rugged look.

The motorcycle is also expected to offer a comprehensive list of features, including a 6.5-inch TFT display, multiple riding modes, traction control, heated grips, and switchable dual-channel ABS. Internationally, the model is available in variants such as Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and Trophy, each offering different levels of equipment. With its blend of performance, technology, and design, the BMW F 450 GS aims to attract both seasoned riders and new entrants to the adventure touring category.
