2026 Skoda Slavia Facelift Production Starts In Pune Ahead Of Launch
Updated Slavia adds new features and an 8-speed automatic.
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has started production of the facelifted Slavia at its Chakan plant in Pune ahead of its market launch on October 6. The updated sedan brings changes across styling, technology, comfort and safety, including several new features aimed at enhancing the experience for both drivers and passengers.
The Slavia facelift receives updated LED headlamps, redesigned LED tail-lamps with sequential turn indicators, new alloy wheel designs and an illuminated front grille. Inside, Skoda has introduced updated colour themes, while the Monte Carlo variant continues with dual-tone exterior finishes, blacked-out styling elements, bespoke badging and design details inspired by the company’s motorsport heritage.
A key mechanical update is the introduction of a new eight-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox with the 1.0-litre TSI engine, replacing the earlier six-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre TSI engine continues with the seven-speed DSG gearbox. The facelift also adds a larger digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch infotainment system featuring an integrated AI assistant.

The updated Slavia introduces a segment-first rear-seat massage function among its new comfort features. The sedan continues to carry a five-star Global NCAP safety rating for adult and child occupant protection. Safety equipment includes six airbags as standard and more than 25 active and passive safety systems, along with automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, a rear defogger and an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror.
More than 80,000 Slavia units have been sold in India since the model was introduced in 2022, with the sedan accounting for around 30 per cent of the mid-size sedan segment, according to the company. The Slavia is also exported to markets including Vietnam, the Middle East and Africa, alongside Skoda’s India-focused Kylaq and Kushaq models.
The start of production also highlights the manufacturing scale of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, which has produced more than two million vehicles in the country and exported over 725,000 units to more than 40 countries. In India, Skoda’s sedan portfolio also includes the Octavia RS, while the next-generation Superb is scheduled to join the lineup in 2027.
