2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno Variants Explained: Features, Changes And Line-Up

Maruti Suzuki has launched the facelifted 2026 Baleno in India, with prices starting at Rs 6.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Sold through the company’s Nexa retail network, the premium hatchback is available in five variants. While the exterior updates are relatively subtle, the biggest change comes under the bonnet with the introduction of Suzuki’s new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine.

The new engine, also seen in the latest Swift, produces 82 PS and 112 Nm of torque. It is offered with either a manual gearbox or an automated manual transmission (AGS), while a factory-fitted CNG option is also available on select variants. The updated Baleno also gains advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), positioning it among the few hatchbacks in its segment to offer such technology.

The entry-level Sigma variant is priced at Rs 6.10 lakh and is available exclusively with the manual gearbox. It gets features including a roof spoiler, shark-fin antenna, steel wheels, halogen headlamps and a dechromed grille. Inside, the Sigma offers a dual-tone cabin, adjustable headrests, a 60:40 split rear seat, remote keyless entry, power windows, rear defogger, manual air conditioning, tilt-adjustable steering and six airbags.

The Delta variant is available with manual, AGS and CNG powertrain options, although its price has not yet been announced. Over the Sigma, it adds features such as turn indicators on the ORVMs, body-coloured door handles and a chrome grille. The cabin gains a rear parcel tray, front centre armrest, rear AC vents, Type-A and Type-C rear charging ports, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls and four speakers.

The Zeta variant is also offered with manual, AGS and CNG options. It builds on the Delta with LED DRLs, LED projector headlamps, painted alloy wheels, chrome-plated door handles, a rear window wiper and washer, and follow-me-home headlamps. Interior additions include automatic climate control, a voice assistant, wireless charging with active cooling, tilt-and-telescopic steering, Suzuki Connect and a larger 9-inch touchscreen paired with four speakers and two tweeters.

At the top of the range, the Alpha variant is available with manual and AGS gearboxes and adds LED fog lamps, UV-cut glass and precision-cut alloy wheels. Its cabin features include a leatherette steering wheel, head-up display, 360-degree camera, cruise control, ventilated front seats, auto-folding ORVMs, an auto-dimming IRVM and a premium Clarion sound system. The Alpha Optional variant adds ADAS, adaptive cruise control, a driver-side footrest and additional grille detailing. Maruti Suzuki is yet to announce prices for the higher variants.
