Indian Women's Cricket Star Smriti Mandhana's postponed wedding to Music Composer Palash Muchhal has sparked a fresh wave of speculation on social media, with viral posts claiming a rescheduled date of December 7, 2025. The rumours, amplified by unverified invites circulating online, prompted a swift denial from Mandhana's brother, Shravan Mandhana, who told the Hindustan Times that the family remains unaware of any new timeline and the ceremony is "still postponed". Palash Muchhal's brother echoed the sentiment, stating the family has no knowledge of such plans and dismissing the buzz as baseless. The couple, who had been in a long-term relationship, faced heartbreak on November 23 when the original Sangli ceremony was abruptly halted after Mandhana's father, Shrinivas, suffered a severe health scare—diagnosed with angina—and was rushed to a local hospital.
The postponement deepened when Muchhal, overwhelmed by stress from the incident, was also hospitalised in Sangli before being transferred to Mumbai for further tests, including an IV drip and ECG; he has since been discharged and is recovering. Muchhal's mother, Amita, revealed that her son—deeply attached to Shrinivas, whom he regards almost as a second father—insisted on delaying the wedding until the elder's full recovery. Shrinivas has stabilised and returned home, but the families are prioritising health over festivities, with no official rescheduling announced. Amid the chaos, Mandhana quietly removed wedding-specific posts from her Instagram, retaining only casual couple photos, a move that fuelled further online chatter but was clarified by family as a bid for privacy during the "sensitive time".
The saga has not been without controversy, as Reddit threads and anonymous claims alleged infidelity on Muchhal's part—involving choreographers Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz Khan—as the true reason for the delay, complete with purported screenshots. Both women vehemently denied the accusations via Instagram, calling them "malicious and false," while Muchhal's cousin and family sources branded the rumours "deeply unfair" and unrelated to the health crisis. Singer Palak Muchhal, Palash's sister, urged fans to respect the families' space, emphasising the postponement's sole link to Shrinivas's condition. Teammate Jemimah Rodrigues withdrew from the Women's Big Bash League to support Mandhana, underscoring the cricketer's tight-knit circle amid the turmoil.

As the World Cup-winning opener—fresh off a stellar 2025 with India—focuses on recovery and cricket, the Mandhana-Muchhal families have requested privacy, with Shravan reiterating, "As of now, it is still postponed." Fans, who celebrated the union post-Mandhana's proposal video going viral, now await official word, hoping for a joyous redo once health permits. The episode highlights the double-edged sword of fame, where personal crises invite relentless scrutiny but also an outpouring of well-wishes for the couple's eventual happily-ever-after.
