The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened choice-filling for the second round of NEET PG 2025 counselling, with candidates able to select preferred colleges and courses until December 9 on the official portal mcc.nic.in. In a significant boost for aspirants, the committee has added 2,620 new postgraduate medical seats to the matrix, bringing the total available under clear and virtual vacancies to approximately 32,000 across the All India Quota and participating institutions.
The fresh seats include newly sanctioned MD/MS and PG Diploma programs as well as positions that became available after the first round due to non-joining or resignation by allotted candidates. The updated seat matrix was released late Friday night, giving registered candidates immediate access to the expanded options during the ongoing choice-filling window that began on December 5.
Candidates who did not secure a seat in Round 1, those who opted out earlier, or new applicants eligible for All India Quota seats are required to complete fresh registration and choice submission by the December 9 deadline. The MCC has advised aspirants to carefully review the revised matrix and lock preferences well before the portal closes at 11:55 pm.

Processing of Round 2 allotments will commence after choice-locking, with results expected in the second week of December. Successful candidates must report to allotted colleges with original documents for admission verification, failing which seats will be forfeited and carried forward to subsequent rounds. The counselling schedule remains on track despite earlier delays in the overall NEET PG 2025 admission cycle.
